WHO IS MAIYA SKYE? 
 

Maiya is an inventor, entrepreneur, and licensed barber with a passion for innovation and community. She holds three U.S. patents for the Clipper Blade Protector, a tool designed to prevent chips and damage to clipper blades during travel, storage, and everyday use in barbershops. The invention has been sold across the world, helping barbers protect their essential tools.

 

Since 2013, she’s been a licensed barber in Washington, D.C., building an extensive clientele through referrals and word of mouth. Her commitment to excellence has allowed her to cultivate a thriving business, serving clients who trust her expertise and dedication to the craft.

 

Beyond her career, she is a devoted wife and mother of two incredible boys who are her greatest joy. Family means everything to her, and she cherishes the time spent with her loved ones.

 

Maiya’s journey has been anything but conventional. Before stepping into entrepreneurship, she served six years in law enforcement. A pivotal moment in her life—being fired and facing personal challenges—became the catalyst for discovering her true path. That experience taught her resilience and self-awareness, leading her to embrace entrepreneurship, where she could create, innovate, and build something of her own.

 

She is driven by passion, creativity, and the desire to make a lasting impact—whether it’s in the barbershop, through her inventions, or in the lives of those around her.
